At the Conference of the International PEN Club, which was held in San Marino, the question was again raised concerning non-recognition of the diplomas of the Skopje University Cyril and Metodij by the Greek government.

As it is known, during November of last year, the International PEN Club at a conference in London, England accepted a Resolution which condemned the procedure of the Greek government and its removal of Greek students from the University of Skopje. The President and the General Secretary of the International PEN Club sent a protest to the Greek minister for culture, Melina Mercuri.

At the beginning of the conference in San Marino, when the minutes of the previous conference in London were discussed, the representative of the Greek PEN Center requested anullment of the Resolution from London.

The International PEN Club in San Marino again reaffirmed the Resolution from London which condemned the Greek government for its non-recognition of the Macedonian language, at which time the Greek representative demonstratively left the Conference in San Marino.
